Ever once in a while I run my batteries too low in my outlaw, and when that happens it sounds like the speaker is blown. So to help with being able to power the unit, I added a universal external power plug.
I decided to add a barrel power connector so I can connect a 12v power/battery pack to it. I went with the standard 5.5x2.1mm and that has a weather proof gasket/plug.
I opened the unit up, found a good spot to put it, drilled the hole, and tightened the nut. Went ahead and spliced into the “battery” wires that connect to the unit. Put it all back together and it works of the 12v battery pack. The outlaw can handle anywhere from 8.5-17v provided it has enough amps to power the amplifier.
