Idaho Hunters?

Hello everyone. I live just across the river in Ontario, OR. I hunt between Weiser and New Plymouth most of the time. Anytime that someone wanted to get together let me know. I am usually available. I have lived in this area since the mid 1980s, minus my Army time. I have hand calls and a Fox Pro Fury. Anyways good luck and stay safe.

Rockin90, pretty much sounds like you are familiar with my haunts! I wouldn't mind hooking up and doing some hunting one of these days. Always seem to be looking for someone to hunt with.

I've been out 3 times now, all in this crappy rain filled weather. I have not managed to call anything in. I'm now to the point where I will probably think twice about venturing out when it's supposed to be wet.

Went out early this morning...a mile out of town...THICK FOG! after a few more miles it cleared up. Then after driving 75 miles to my planned area, more thick fog. I thought it would burn off but by the time the best calling time was over it still hadn't cleared. Moved to a lower elevation, saw a set of lion tracks. four setups, no coyotes, no lions, but 13 deer and one cottontail rabbit. Rats!

Went out yesterday for the first time this fall. 3 of us made about 10 stands over a large area and no coyotes. Saw some deer and magpies but that was it. When we stopped for gas, the guy at the gas station said the ranchers in the area had a helicopter out last week and killed 63 coyotes. That wasn't too encouraging.
As far as what we shoot- Myself and my hunting partners all carry .223 ARs and a 12g shotgun on every stand.

cant wait to move back, you guys make me home sick.
10 more months and back to buying big game tags over the counter and I want to get back to wolf hunting.
good hunting to all you guys.

I''ve been doing all right. Spent most of my time trapping this year. My mom died a month ago and I got some funky lung disorder they can't figure out. So that slowed me up a bit during the last several weeks. I'm slinging steel and calling til I keel over this weekend. I've been trying my hand at making predator bait while I've been down. I'm sure my wife will be happy to see me go.

Sorry to hear about your mom Brendan, my condolences. Hope you get your lung disorder figured out and start feeling better soon.
