Mine would prob be a Sako TRG 42 in .300 Win Mag with a Nightforce or Swaro optic of some sort but there are many more choices. I can name any number of Blaser's that would do me well also...
D'Arcy Echols runs a factory right? I'd take one of his rifles with the Legend stock chambered in a good ol' vanilla cartridge like a .338 Win.
If I had to stick with a real factory rifle, I'd probably just keep my Kimber 8400 Classic in .300 WSM with a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40. It's a great little rifle that carries nice and shoots accurately at reasonable hunting ranges.
For a varmint gun, I'd have to just keep my Browning A-bolt Medallion Varmint in .223. It worked well enough at the Egg Shoot, so I see no reason to replace it.
If "factory" means mass produced, then I'd probably have to go with a Sako. They are hard to beat.
If "factory" means made by an arms manufacturer, as opposed to someone "customizing" a factory action, I'd go with a Holland and Holland 500 NE side by side.
I'd hunt with it for one trip to Africa and then pay for the whole trip when I got back by selling it, LOL.
The orignal idea for this post was it had to be a mass producer but it seemed to stray from that rather quickly. I was more or less trying to see what brand rifle people would by if they knew they couldnt do any extra work to it.

Then you should have worded it as such. The way you posed the question made it sound as if you wanted to know what rifle left 3 drops of pee in everyones pants when they seen it. Factory is a pretty loose term, rack grade rifle may have been a bit better.

That might work. Im still trying to figure out why so many people still havent chosen the worlds best rifle the 700? The military uses it, it has to be the best right? I mean the the military would never choose a platform based on cost. Nothing but the best for our troops.

LOL..!! You're trying to hard.
Bottom Line: You are probably the only one here who has or will lose sleep over the out-come of your little poll here. To anyone else it really doesn't matter.
The only thing that does matter to some folks is when someone has such a strong personal agenda - for whatever reason - that facts get trampled. More of that IMO "thingy"...
And for the record, arms aren't procured solely based on cost. Other things definitely are considered in arms trials. If cost was the deciding criteria, our snipers would all be shooting Sevens 200 rifles with Krylon camo finishes...
Good thing popularity doesnt equal quality. If you think popularity equals a good product then im also quite sure you followed the reat of the il informed mass and voted for Obama.
