The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives released an Open Letter and Frequently Asked Questions explaining how it will treat ownership, transfer, and transportation of the National Firearms Act (NFA) firearms for which Congress eliminated the making and transfer taxes in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Under ATF's guidance, ATF will not enforce the requirements for individuals to apply and receive ATF approval before making or transferring short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, suppressors (silencers), and certain other concealable firearms known in the law as "any other weapons." ATF also will not enforce the NFA's registration, tax-stamp or related requirements for those covered items. The $200 tax remains in place for machine guns and destructive devices. The NFA requirements apply in full to those weapons. The guidance does not supersede state and local laws that restrict NFA firearms.

NV may be good, we are clairifying some of the language now through ATF. But we may be good with just 4473s.
We have halted selling for now, but should have some info next week.

I just ordered another AEM5 for the collection, not because of the new developments, but because I've been wanting another one. My dealer will do either the Form 4 or the 4473, my choice, I'm going Form 4 simply because the law is still on the books and all it takes is an Administration change to get stuck with an NFA item that's not on a Form 1 or Form 4.

My dealer has lowered their NFA transfer fee so that plus no tax and fast turn around time I just don't see rolling the dice.

With that said, we (gun owners) are headed in a positive direction but we need Legislation effected changes. "Legislating From the Bench" appears to be a nice thing... but it has pitfalls.

Please send me documentation on this when you get a definitive answer.
From my understanding, it is the wording of the State law that needs changing. Not from the ATF.

Some more discussion about this topic here regarding NEVADA.

^^^^ This right here will be my absolute choice and I agree with Bob's opinion, all it takes is them putting the tax back on. But with the current verbiage in place with the forms it is considered as the tax paid in full. So there is no oh you owe us $$$$$ down the road.
