Iz just bs'n ya. I still want it! I could learn to love the check peice.

Well, after doing a .22-250 last year I can say I'll never do another, should have just gone to the .243.

Why? More versatile with better bullets and more accurate. I'm not impressed with the 250 at all.

Amen to that. Got sucked into that one myself.

I would have stayed away from the Handi Rifles. They are OK but not like my bolts. If I were to do it all over again it would be Two rifles:

1. Savage 11 or Axis in 223 topped with a quality 3-9 x 40 or 4-12 x 40 scope. Mildot reticle.

2. An AR with a 16" barrel in .223. Flat top mounted with a quality Halo sight. This would be my thick cover, close quarters calling rifle.

Predators only? A stainless bolt .22-250 carbine (18.5" barrel is my new "choosen" length) with a wood or laminate stock in whatever flavor (i.e. brand) I find that shoots well. Don't care if it's Remington, Ruger, Savage, etc as long as it shoots straight.

Started with .22-250 and tried a bunch of others since then. Always came back to the .22-250 as a predator only cartridge.

I would have to say a WOA 20in upper in 20pr with a RRA lower with nm2 stage trigger and what ever stock you like. Top it with what ever glass you want. Shoot 35gr bergers for yotes and shoot 26gr barnes for other things. No recoil so you can see your hits. You will spend the same amount of money on this set up as you will a factory gun and it will be a ton more accurate.

I would have a Model 600 (yes, 600) Reminton action trued and put a #3 or 4 contour 24" Shilen chambered in .17 Rem on it.
On top of some Leupold bases/rings I would put a fine duplex 3-9x50mm VX3
I would put it in a HS precision stock finished with a desert tan camo pattern. I would also have the entire rifle bead blasted to a dull grey color.

I think that's what I'd have done... As for now I have black rifle sickness.
