Illinois night hunting?

Im heading to southern Illinois Feb 13-15 to do some calling. I have never done any night calling so I am pretty pumped about it but I have a couple of questions for the Illinois boys. Can you use centerfire rifles at night? What can you kill, yote ,fox, cats? In general how is the calling out there? Im going to Randolph county. Thanks for any input.

I live in IL and this last weekend my friends and I killed aobut 15 dogs and 1 fox. most of them were taken during the night and we were using AR's. You should look at the IL DNR website and see when the night hunting ends for the diffent animals. We are located in Rock Island and Mercer county so I don't know how it will be south but up here it is pretty good.

Fox goes out the 15th Coyotes the 31st. Night hunting has not been real good here in central Illinois but I think it's mainly due to hunting pressure.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif You can still hunt coyotes at night till the 31st? I thought it read till the 15th when fox is out.
I hope your right /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Song Dog,
You are correct. Coyote hunting at night ends at midnight on Feb. 15th. Gonna be some serious fur flying this weekend if the winds calm down by Saturday. We've got a good 6" on the ground this morning in Will County and it still coming down. This bitter cold will get them moving this weekend if it warms up a little on Saturday like it's supposed too. They cooperated nicely last weekend and responded well to the E-call, I expect similar results this weekend.

Not true. The only restrictions are for the shotgun seasons. The muzzle loader and late season hunts do not have any restrictions, other than you have to wear orange. And if you are going on state ground you need to check on the gun restrictions. Some sites you can only use rimfires or shot guns. Some you can't even hunt coyotes until the goose season is over.

man u live in illinois dont act like that u can not hunt coyotes at night 16,17,18, its just shotgun season u cant hunt at night or any of the day for that matter when its shotgun season late season is the same way an another thing you cant!! even use rilfes on state ground no matter what. An by the way what part of illinois r u from it sounds like u need to grab a book an read up on the rules if u can even read
