Illuminated reticle for coyotes at night?? Any experience with illum. reticle?

I would watch out for the Vortex, I haven't used one at night but I don't know what the creators were smoking when they made the light up reticle. Not only the center of their reticle lights up but some other useless parts of the reticle too, and I don't mean the cross hairs, I could see a lit up Vortex reticle being a real pain at night. Compare it to a VX-R and it makes more sense. The Vortex 1-4 weighs almost twice as much as my VX-R also.

I was looking at the Crossfire ii with IR. From what I saw, ONLY the tiny dot in the center of the reticle was illuminated. You are saying the reticle itself is lit up?

Ok, the ones I have played with were the viper PST and after looking up the crossfire it looks like you are correct, the lit reticle of the viper is that one sipping on the tacticoolaid.

How will he explain to Mr green Jeans why he has a thermal scope on his rifle since Ca dfw states its illegal to hunt with them.

The Crossfire II VBrite reticle is the one you are referring to, I have one and its awesome at night. The scope is low quality though, wish they made a better quality model with the same reticle.

Agreed! I was looking for the Viper with that reticle...but it does not appear the viper is made with that reticle, unfortunately.
