I'm a real horse's butt.......

We have a problem with Road Hunter in my area Hildago. They stop and shoot regardless of if they land they are shooting over is posted, or if they are too close to the road to discharge a firearm.

I turn them in regulary. Like the sititution you had these people are the ammo the anti-hunter use against the good sportsman.

You did the right thing. And as said on here previously you did a better thing by teaching your child by example.

I think you have an obligation to turn in poachers. Law enforcement is 90%+ a reactive force. They cannot react unless they know where to be. Not to mention the benefits of teaching your son a lesson vicariously through someone else's mistakes. The ability of what I call "collective learning" is what separates us from most animals. Your son now does not need to make the mistake of poaching because he has learned a lesson through seeing someone else make the mistake.

Also, if three guys had six turkeys in their possession I would guess they knew exactly where they were and that they should not have been there. I'm sure they will get themselves a paid liar (lawyer) and get the SUV back, but I hope they have to buy the shotguns back from the state of Tennessee. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No you are not. They knew what they were doing and that they shouldn't have been doing it. If they didn't know it they are morons and got a very expensive lesson.

KUDO'S man!! You (we) are lucky they were able to respond to your call in a timely manner. I've made calls before where there was no gamie available for hours and the call went down in vain. Good job on making the call.
