Has anyone heard of a sandhill crane distress call for an ecaller. We have thousands in the feilds around my area and I would think that the coyotes get a good share in a year. Please let me know if you can point me in the right direction. Thanks Adam.

Hey, now that is one whacked out avatar! Too cool! How did you ever come up with that? What is it, a Bluedogjaycritter?

Adam, I have hunted up around the hinkley/sandstone area and have thought the same thing. Let me know if you find anything, I would love to have one of those as well. Not that the sandhill cranes are loud enough by themselves....I would assume you would need a decoy as well. It is hard to miss a bird that stands 4-5 feet tall....

Here is my imitation of sandhill crane distress. I recorded it with a call I have on hand. If you wish to use it on your caller, you have my permission. There are some cracks and pops in this recording, but I betcha RedFrog's favorite rifle that this sound will call coyotes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Redfrog,
It took you long enough to find that little bet I made. I was beginning to think maybe you were in winter hibernation. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

A long way from hibernation my friend /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I've been busy moving. We bought a quarter section on the edge of nowhere and it has been a delight trying to move all our stuff.
This new place is awesome. 35 acre pond full of ducks and geese. we had 8 coyotes howling wothin 200 yds. of the house the other night, and mongo deer all through the area.
I thought the area I lived in was good coyote country, but this is much better. I've talked to some locals and no one calls coyotes, but they have plenty here that need killing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I have clients coming in beginning in two weeks, but I doubt I can wait tht long. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
