IMR 4320 30-06 loads?

I'm wanting to load some 150 grain bullets in my 30-06. I planned on using 4064 but just barely have enough for a few test loads. I've read 4320 works pretty good as well and I have two pounds of it. Any of you use it in the 06? I have a few other powders that may work to if there is something better.
 
IMR4320 is similar to Reloader 15 and W748 in burn rate so I would imagine it would work fine in a bolt gun for 150's. I personally havent used it in 30-06, I usually use 4350 or 4064 but if you have 2 lbs of it, sounds like you may have to put it to use and try it.

I used it back when I first started reloading at 11 years old, I would shoot rocks and old 1 qt jugs of oil that were cleaned and refilled with water. My great uncle had a pound or two when he passed and my dad inherited his stuff. It sure did propel a 150 gr bullet from a 8mm Mauser pretty well. Used a good bit of his IMR4895 as well.

I've had the powder for a while. I thought if it worked good that I'd use it up. Can't seem to buy much now so may as well try it. LOL, I saw H322 for $60 a pound today. H335 was $50. I left it on the shelf.
 
I just heard today that IMR4320 is discontinued. Not much sence working up a load with powder I can't get. Guess I'll try H4350.
 
Well,Bill, 2# of 4320 should load aroung 250 30-06 rounds....what else ya gonna use it for?

When I gave up HP competition, I had near 20# of H450 which was my favorite powder behind 190 gr. SMK's for 30-06 @ 600 yds. It was discontinued shortly after. Worked so well behind heavy bullets that I wanted to use it in the 243 WSSM w/100 gr. bullets but no loading data for that cartridge as it came along after H450 was discontinued. Worked great, being discontinued doesn't affect performance.

I'd give the 4320 a try, especially as scarce as powder is today.

I use it in my 22-250. I was the original powder for that round. It is very close to 4064. I bought 10 lbs. for $13.00 a lb.. I still see it on shelfs for $28.00 a lb.. I bet you won't be able to tell the difference between the 2. Except a few FPS.

I did notice 4064 and 4320 are real close. Like hm said, what else will I do with it? LOL! Thia rifle will be lucky to see 250 rounds. After I find a load, it will be a hunting rifle during deer season and won't see a lot of action. Besides, I don't want to mess up a 50 year old minty Sako banging it against a tree stand either.
 
I inherited some 4320 a few years ago, worked fine. I bought a fresh lb when I saw it in the shelf a few months ago, under $30. It doesn’t get the mention of some, but performs just fine.
 
Well, I went with H4350 for the first time out with the 06. It worked really good but the best loads were middle of the road loads, best group was with 55 grains and next was with 57. Book max was 58 and the group opened up a bunch. I still plan on trying the 4320 on the next time out and we will see how the two powders compare.
