IMR 4350 vs. H4350 for 30.06?

I have not found a better combination than 57gr of H4350 behind a 165gr bullet. I have shot that load through 5 different 30-06 rifles and they have all liked that load. I have used it to take deer, elk, bear, pronghorn coyotes, cougar and various other critters. The results have kept me shooting the dull old 30-06.
 
Since Hodgdon is making both it makes me wonder if they aren't the same powder.

I have not bought H4350 just because all my load developement was done long ago using IMR4350. I usually check a few rounds when I get a new batch of bullets or powder and my load data hasn't really been effected. It is very consistent. I buy in bulk (8# powder or 500 bullets) so having to develope or check a new load only happends every 10 years or so. I'm still using the data I developed around 1985. I've been using the IMR4350 since back when it was Dupont IMR.

Smith and Wesson Brass, CCI Primer, Speer 165 grain Grand Slam, 57.2 grains of IMR4350. I set the bullet to the center of the cannalure.(I don't crimp) Velocity is shy of 2900ft/sec.
 
H4350 seems to be little hotter than the IMR...could have just been the lots that I shot.

I shoot 58.0g of H4350 with the 180g NOsler BT in my 700, 5/8"-3/4" accuracy and fast. Seems to like the Win primer the best.
 
Another nod for IMR-4350. Been using it for 30+ years and my dad for many before that. It is my go to powder for 30-06 and any round based off the 30-06 case, standard or wildcat. The only exception is my 7mm Gibbs, which loves IMR-4831 for some reason.
 
Both are very good powders. H4350 is supposed to be a bit slower burning. They definately are not the same! When going through load devolpment, IMR4350 cleary outshined H4350.
 
H4350 is a bit slower burning than the IMR version. Normally it takes about a grain more of the Hodgdon version to achieve the same results as with the IMR powder. I use H4350 in my 06' loads because it is one of the Extreme powders that are supposed to be temperature and humidity tolerant. If you have a .30-06 rifle that won’t shoot a quality 180 gr. bullet into little groups when propelled by about 57.0 grains of H4350 (plus or minus ½ grain) then something is wrong with the rifle or your loading technique. That will normally shoot very, very, well and at about 2,750+ fps from a 22” barrel.
