In The Market for a .223 Bolt Action - What Options Are Out There?

I'm selling my .308 so I can purchase a new .223 Bolt Action Rifle for Predator Hunting. With all of those rifle brands out there, what would everybody recommend? I'm open to options and have a budget between $500-$600ish.

Thanks for the help,

Rem m7, CZ, Tikka T3...all around your price range and great options.

The Savage 11 Predator seems like a decent one too, but a bit beefy in the bbl for me. I could see one chopped down would be a good option as well.

In order, based on value (price point/options) I'd purchase:
1. Savage Axis with accutrigger
2. Rem 700 tactical with 1 in 9" twist
3. Weeatherby S2

I have no experience with the Tikka, or CZ, Sako, etc. Most of my rifles are one evolutionary step above a truck gun. For glass, check Primary Arms and their ACSS HUD reticle.

It would be hard to find a better one for the money than a CZ 527 either in American or, my favorite, Varmint.

Slickity slick action, great (one of the best) trigger, will shoot under 2" at 300 yards with certain factory ammo too. Great gun.

Never thought I would recommend the Savage Axis but I bought one and after the rebate it was around $220 bucks. Shootin little rifle for sure. Leaves alot left over for optics and gear.

Don't overlook the Ruger American Predator. I have 2 and both are sub moa out of the box with factory ammo. Triggers are adjustable and excellent. These Rugers are within your budget and may even leave you some change to put toward premium glass!

Savage M10 or M11 (same) would be my own pick.
The rest in no order are as good.
Howa, Tikka, CZ, Ruger American, Marlin,

Is it primarily going to be a calling rifle/walking varmint rifle or will it rarely be carried more than a few hundred yards?
CZ, Tikka, Remington 700 and Model 7, and Savage all make good rifles in that price range. If that price includes an optic, id go with the Ruger American and a Leupold VX-1 3-9x40

Howa 1500 223. I've had one for 3 years now and it is a shooter. I reload my own and I know what it likes. Like the rubberized stock and I put a Timney trigger on it. My new 22-250 Ranch land security came with a 2.5 trigger pull(The trigger is adjustable) so I saved a $100.00 when I bought that model. It has a 20" barrel and is light weight and is also a great shooter. Both were under $500.00.

I have lately purchased a couple browning xbolt and they shoot and handle very very well. They now get more use than the others

Look into the mossberg MVP I have one in 204 and nephew has one in .223. Everyone I know with one loves it and they are all shooters. Plus it doesn't come with a flimsy Tupperware stock like all the others.
