Indiana suppressor bill passes in Judiciary committee 7-1 -- A shout out for GEMTECH Dealer "Down by the Tracks" of Galveston, IN for stepping up to the plate and testifying!
Suppressors while hunting vote: Passed: 7-1.

Widow maker do know this to be untrue? I for one am interested in finding out. Not sure how to authenticate.

Today, NRA-backed Senate Bill 243 passed in the Senate Judiciary Committee by a 7 to 1 vote!  This bill will now head to the full Senate for a floor vote.  SB 243, authored by state Senators Ron Grooms (R-46), Travis Holdman (R-19) and John Waterman (R-39), would allow Hoosiers to use lawfully-possessed suppressors (also referred to as silencers) on firearms for hunting.  Currently, Indiana law permits use of suppressors for all shooting activities except for the taking of game.  Enactment of SB 243 would ensure that hunting is treated the same way as other shooting activities with respect to the use of suppressors, and allow hunters to reap the many benefits suppressor use provides.

Reid- You can't go wrong with a Gemtech or a QSM. We have both of these brands and love them both. Ours are titanium, but we certainly are satisfied.

what model in each of the brands are u using? and what length barrel guns? thx

The Gemtech is a .30 Sandstorm and both of my .22 and .30 are the QSM titanium series. I use mine on all my guns. Every gun I own is now threaded. I would recommend getting a .30 the first time. They work just as well on a .17 as it does on a .30. The mistake I made was buying the .22 first. Then I had to buy a .30 for all my other guns.

Looks like this will pass. I've been following this for a while and really never thought it would get this far. I'll be buying one soon. Wonder if this will cause the prices to go up? What is the advantage of Titanium?

Titanium is 1/2 the weight and 2x the price.

My advice from living in a state that just recently changed laws (to be able to use a can) is get in line EARLY. BATF takes a while and they aren't adding examiners.

So thats good news!! But what date will it take effect???
Other than this thread every one ive talked to in this state said they have not heard of anything like this.

It's not law yet. It still has to make it through the senate and then through the house. Then the Governor has to sign. Passing a committee 7 to 1 is a pretty good sign it will make it. It figures 1 left-wing anti gun nut would vote against it.

Senate Bill 0243

It still needs our support.
