Install new barrel without action block?

I don't think those places would have AR specific vise blocks.

I have heard of people buying some cheap steel scope rings and mount them on the rail and then clamp the rings in the vise.

I don't think I would do this, but just thought I would throw it out there.

My vote is for an action block. As stated above, tools will eventually pay for themselves.

How do they know you didnt buy the parts 3 wks ago?? Or buy an air feshener.

I doubt they will even ask, tell them you are rotating you car tires and need a torque wrench.

The last time I went there, I grabbed a pickle fork without any questions. Just a deposit for the tool. No questions...

Sorry I haven't commented lately. I've been out of town at our state FFA convention. I'm a coach for one of our chapter's competition teams.

Since I did have a credit at JoeBob's, I decided to go ahead and order a vice block kit from him. It should be here tomorrow! I figured that I might possibly do this again in the future, and went for the tool. I'm sometimes a bit accident prone and I'm hoping that the tool will keep me out of trouble on this one
