Interesting observation at Wal Mart

The wife sent me to Wally World over the weekend to do some grocery shopping.

After getting what I needed, I strolled to the sporting goods section, and found something very interesting.

Almost all of the firearm prices had been raised by anywhere from $15.00 to $25.00. They even raised the price $20.00 on a 20 ga H&R single shot!

All of the semi-auto shotguns and .22's were raised--seems like hit and miss on some of the others. Most of the bolt guns were not raised.

Have you noticed this in your area?

Tim

The other interesting thing was that they were almost sold completely out of ammo--centerfire rifle and pistol--had plenty of shotgun shells, though!

my most recent observation of Walmart - caters to, hires mostly and promotes illegal aliens. This was not part of the "Sam Walton" dream.

Ours don't sell guns that I am aware of. But given the total number of times I have been in a Walmart that ain't sayin' much. Something about third world quality products really turns me off.

Ours doesn't sell guns; others in the areas do. I learned from the gal that runs the sporting goods department that they haven't been getting ammo shipped to them like they did in the past. A few shipments ago a guy bought the whole, and only case of .22 bulk Feds the morning it got there. Needless to say the other day I was there and I bought the only two boxes of .22 bulk Feds they had.

Our local Wally "made in China" Mart still has some guns, but I've noticed the same with the ammo. I load my own, but I still look when I'm in there. They don't have any pistol ammo at all, very few rifle, but a buttload of shotgun shells. If you think about it, the anti's don't have to take your guns, if they can starve you out of ammo? What are you gonna do? Beat somebody over the head with that 1,000$ gun? That's what they are thinking. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Prices are higher, ammo (except shotgun) is mostly out of stock. However, this isn't reserved to Wal-Mart here; it seems pretty universal.

I guess this must just not of happened at our wal-mart yet. Yes there is a shortage of ammo but I have been able to get what I need the last few times I have been there and havent noticed a price change yet. They lady behind the counter did tell me it was supposed to of happened in January but for some reason management decided to hold off for awhile. I picked up three bricks of .22 lr a couple weeks ago and just purchased 500 rounds of .45 and a 100 rounds of 9mm on tuesday. They also have and abundance of Federal Power Shok, i think thats what they are in the blue box, in all your common deer rifles and an [beeep] load of shotgun shells and .17 hmr

i went to wal mart the other night to get me some new jeans and while in the dressing room i spoke through the door and said there wasnt any tolet paper.thought i was going to have to give the girl working there cpr she was laughing so hard.

Last time I was there I didn't notice higher gun prices but picked up a landscaping crew at a discount.
