Iowa CCW?

oregon is the same way, but is a shall issue state. county sheriff does the background check and issues the permit. you just dont want to carry in the liberal cities.

I live in Butler county in north central Iowa all I had to do was take the class at Hawkeye Community College and get approved by the sheriff pretty painless. The first year you have a permit in my county it has restrictions after the first year with no problems all restrictions are lifted. As far as the hunting in Iowa goes our deer hunting is WORLD CLASS with over the counter tags for residents. There is public hunting all over the state that is good ground for hunting any game Iowa has to offer. Fishing oppurtunities are numerous in our many small lakes and mainly the rivers. I have not ever met an outdoorsman from Iowa or any where else that didn't like what we have to offer. Our coyote hunting is pretty dang good also. Shoot me a message any time when you get this way anyone is always welcome to come up for a hunt or a day of fishing any time.

Warpig, the hunting issues aren't so much with the regs but instead the lack of public hunting that throw's people from the west off. You're used to vast areas of hunting, here you have to knock on doors to get on anything and then it's usually only a few acres as compared to the vastness of the west.

I see, i didnt know that. Sounds like Iowa isnt all its cracked up to be. For me anyways. I can forego a lot of things for my family and job but guns and hunting isnt really one of them. If it were a few minor thinjk I could work around it, but it seems to be quite a few different things out there. The biggest plus for me was getting my family out of Phoenix. Cedar Rapids was in the "Top 10 best cities to raise a kid" the schools are better and you dont have illegals ruining entires cities.

Hopefully our state will turn back to RED and people will actually open their eyes up and see what they are actually seeing(a retard with a good voice), just my opinon.... But here in Muscatine county its like an 8 hour class and you shoot at a target and you pay 60 bucks to get your permit and thats it... Havent done it yet, but need too.
