Iowa pheasant hunting

Good numbers this year. We limited out in 2 hours on opening, and 1 hour on sunday. We
hunted over my 4 year old German Short Hair who performed flawlessly. How are numers looking
in other areas?
 
NORM I will be up there in a couple of days. We are headed for Perry and if we don't find the birds we are headed for Marshalltown. Can you give me a heads up on the type of grain fields/grass you found them in. It sounds like you found them and then went and got you some more on Sunday. Now question for ya. What type of gun, shells (load size), choke were you using. How far was your av. shot. Any help welcomed

12g with modified choke, 6 shot with a heavy load of powder. we hunted grass, but there is still some standing corn around, and there are always birds in there. Most shots were close as the dog was pointing them and then holding point for us to get ready.

How did Iowa Pheasant hunt turn out? There were a lot of hunters out last week. I found it difficult to find areas without hunters, but did ok over the whole day.
