Correct. I don't think that will take very long.
And even worse, the longer this goes on, the more we draw down our stockpiles of arms, potentially weakening us and making us a riper military target for bad actors. China, North Korea, and Russia have to be loving this.

For 47 years presidents and Iran have told us what we need to know, Islamism(political Islam) has sworn to destroy America/Israel and Western culture. Clinton/Obama/Biden tried to buy off Iran with PALLETS of cash. Bush's thought they could bring Iran into a new world order, even though they heard the chants and promises. Many NATO countries are trying to play nice hoping maybe Islamist they allowed into countries (England,France, others) won't carry out the already planned terror attacks. This is SO MUCH BIGGER than media spin. We can't look away, just like we can't ignore what the democrats have let into our country. Millions who are not here looking to assimilate and thousands that want to destroy. Just as Islamism aligned with Nazi (socialists and marxists). Iran backed Islamist terrorists have aligned with DEMOCRATS here(look at who is siding with protesters). Remember Biden ordered immigration to NOT to enforce US law. WTF.
There are 2 existing pipelines that skip the strait. Both are now ramping up to max exports.
The Habshan-Fujairah pipeline, which connects onshore fields to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, that can pump nearly 2 million barrels a day. pre-war output 1.mb
and East-West pipeline to the Red Sea port of Yanbu that can pump 7 million barrels a day. pre-war output 1.7mb

I agree with your thoughts except for the islam vs political islam. Since it's inception islam has been hell bent on conquering the world. There is no differentiating islam from their politics. Muhammad lead armies against untold numbers of people groups in the name of islam. He beheaded over 800 people himself. Islam has been and always will be a bloodlust group that seeks after their jihad caliphate. The very name of this group of people means Submission. Read the koran, I have, and see for yourself that there is no differentiating the islam from the politics of islam.
Notice that none of the countries Iran has fired on are shooting back? Iran issued warnings today for Iranian civilians to leave oil installations, stating that they will now target them. The Saudis, UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain are taking hits, playing defense, and just remaining silent. If they build a coalition, they would be more than a match for whatever military Iran has left. But their populations hate Israel, do not trust America to be fully committed, and, not to mention, religion. It is complicated.
We thought the IRGC would fold like the Republican Guard in 2003. We were wrong and misunderstood the complexity -they are more than just a conventional force.
They are lighting up oil infrastructure now.

There is a reason they folded in 2003, simply it was because of Hwy 80, and what we did to them in 1990's .
We simply haven't did that exact tactic to the Iranians .... yet.

Muslims are the non political religious practitioners, Islamism (Islamist Muslims) are the anti Christian/Jewish activists. We are systematically destroying Iranian military equipment, installations, leadership. There will not be a missile, drone or warship or enrichment sites left when we/Israel stop bombing. Iranians will need to deal with IRGC that don't show themselves.

That’s part of it, but I see it a little differently. Iraq in 2003 didn’t “fold” just because of Highway 80 or the 90s—it’s because they tried to fight a conventional war against us, and once that got dismantled, everything unraveled fast. I was in the invasion in 2003, and we rolled by the rusted frames of vehicles still littered along Highway 80—that destruction was real, but it wasn’t the reason the regime collapsed years later.
And honestly, the units everyone thought would be the toughest—the Republican Guard—were largely degraded early and didn’t end up being the main source of resistance. Most of the actual fighting in 2003 came from the Fedayeen, who used gurilla warfare and were some of the only forces putting up sustained resistance in places like Nasiriyah, Samawa, Najaf, and Diwaniya.
Iran isn’t making that mistake. They’re not lining up tanks to get wiped out—they’re already structured around irregular warfare, proxies, and decentralized forces, and I’m sure they have even larger paramilitary networks than Iraq did.
So it’s not that the tactic hasn’t been used yet—it’s that Iran isn’t giving anyone the same kind of target Iraq did in 2003

yeah was there at both times as well wore the "Bug" patch in 03... settled into TAA Rifles in Ramadi for a base. In 90 it was the Sky Dragons which we secured HWy 80 after the A-10 etc came through. It was far worse than any photos, or what we seen when we crossed over from Kuwait.
My point is this ole girl doesn't need tanks lined up to still wreck havoc..
BUT yes, they are fighting a different kind of warfare, and can be effective. Exactly as you describe, but if the focus is to free up the straights they lose the edge.
Just a opinion from my armchair which means absolutely nothing.
Maybe just reliving the past IDK.

Small world—we might’ve crossed paths. I wore the AA patch “Alcoholics Anonymous”. Hard not to think back with tomorrow marking the 23rd anniversary. That was my first deployment; I wasn’t there in ’91.
I’ve been following this obsessively, and it feels familiar—early overconfidence after Baghdad fell, driven by air superiority, then the situation starts to morph and slip out of control.
At first I thought, how stupid can the Iranians be, hitting all these countries? But now I see the logic behind it. Compare the mindsets: ours tends to be, “bring down gas prices and wrap this up before midterms so the House doesn’t flip.” Theirs is, “this is our home under attack, and we’ll fight to the death.”

Your correct in your assessment IMO, like you I think they are playing the long game. I personally don't discount your assessment, far from it.
We just need to cut that game short without stepping foot in the country. Which means no drones, no IRGC. Would that work ? IDK
India (just to name one country) for some reason seems to have sympathies to the Islamic Regime in the propaganda war efforts. which when I look at some of the "how Iran is winning" podcast seems to be sort of based from them. To a extent, from my point of view. I don't expect those countries to actually become actively involved.
What gets me is NATO not kicking in a bit in this, to open the Straits passage way only. That would be in their best interest as if effects their energy cost more than the US.
Just a opinion from my silly mindset, that I had the desire for some reason to share. (No I don't know more that anyone else, It does ring familiar I'll agree)
I knew that you Jeremy had been there, just didn't know the year by gleaning it from your brief statements on here. I suspect there are way more member on here that have chewed the same sand/dirt that we have. That are simply remaining quiet.
