is .308 too big?

My cousin shot a Coyote At deepcamp this year with his 308. Distance was at or just under 100 yards shooting 150 grain federal power shok. no damage to fur. I was expecting a BIG hole, but no, nothing but a 308 in 308 out.

Not a "no-no" where I live. Not legal for big game but I don't think there is any problem using it on coyotes. Colorado guys; correct me if I'm wrong on this!

They seem to kill people pretty good! The do flip over and rotate sideways in a soft target. Should do the same in a yote. Maybe not!

I don't hate 'em at all. I kinda like 'em.

The FP10 is going be be a heavy carry gun if you are walking any distances, but accurate as heck. I have the same in .223 and walk 2-3 miles with it.

Yeah, if you watch video of miniguns out of a helicopter, pretty much every tracer is a richochet. That's at a down-angle, too, so shooting them flatter is worse.
They'll richochet off a sand dune, even.

That's kinda dangerous, in my opinion. I'll only shoot them into a dirt berm, personally.

Wait till you catch a shoulder bone square, with that fmj. When the shoulder bone comes out the other side, it makes a BIG hole! I know, I tried to skin one that had been shot like that one time. I won't tell the rest of the story, cause it's gross and embarrassing.

how about 125gr sierra single shot pistol bullets or 130 gr speer tnt the both work well for me as well as sierra 155gr palma match

I have killed lots of deer with my .308 ... but if I was looking to replace it I'd look hard at the .260.Deer ,coyotes targets with less recoil and less wind drift .Whats not to like
