Is a .17 HMR enough?

If you can afford a nice 17HMR, then you can afford an Axis .223 or .22-250 or .243, etc. Walmart usually has them for $267 (give or take). A decent Bushnell scope, $1.50 in parts for the trigger mod, and you're under $400.

17HMR is ok for jack rabbit size animal but that's really about what it can kill reliably, in my opinion.

I use mine exclusively for the elusive Unicorn. Very fur friendly, being that Unicorn fur is highly sought after, right along with Bigfoot.

I wondered how far South this would go!!It's not even on the map!! Nothing better than a good hot bowl of spotted owl soup! Or Unicorn jerky!!

hopefully you have noticed that all of the other posts are all in fun, nothing is aimed at you personally. just do search on 17 hmr!
have you looked at a 22 mag?

Anyone remember that guy who successfully completed the North American super slam (all 29 game animals) with a 17 HMR?

Whats indore? Get the Ruger American its 10times the rifle! Having said all that, I love my HMR and carry it 90% of the time.
