Is my 7mm-08 enough?

Back in about 1990 I bought my daughter a Browning Micro in 7-08 and She loved it. Still Does. The more I fooled with it & learned about it , the more I liked it. So I bought me one . I'm 6ft 4in tall and weigh 300 lbs. It is not limited to the small. I am not recoil sensitive. I hunt with a 45-70 guide gun and a 300wsm, & 30-06 . But my goto gun is my 7-08. I shoot Hornady Light Mag in 139gr. Excellent combination.

Heck no it isn't needed for white tailed deer. I've killed a bunch with a 223 lol, but it just seemed the 3006 was starting to get bashed a little that's all... Can't have that now...

Happy hunting

The 30-06 has worked so well for so long it has become "boring" to many.

I make a point to try to take critters with a lot of different rifles/cartridges/load combinations. It is part of what keeps it fun for me.

The 7-08 is one cartridge I seem to always come back to for deer hunting. It is quite simply superb in that regard. I'll be sporting some 120gr TSXs out of it this year......

There is always some hoser who want's to slam anything he, personally, doesn't use...Absolutely nothing wrong with the 7mm-08, great cartridge - though I like the 6.5-08 (260 Remington) a tad better (but then, I'm just crazy about 6.5s)

I am one of those who, while I have much respect for the accomplishments of the -06, find it incredibly boring, NOT INADEQUATE by a long stretch, just boring... with only the .270 being moreso... but that's just me....
