is the FX 3 worth it?

I bought an FX-5 about a month ago and have been pleased with the results. The remote is great and the caller is loud and clear. Friday I had three yotes come in up wind of the caller and the wind was blowing 15-18 MPH, my hunters missed all three. Next stand I killed one on the run that came in up wind. I always point the caller into the wind when calling. The baterries last longer if you play the caller in the low 20's or about 1/2 volume. To elavate the caller off the ground I hang it on my shooting sticks, which are 3 6ft. bamboo sticks tide together with a innertube. I guide hunters for a living and this caller has been a real producer, it will pay for itself in tips for me. Good Hunting.

So worth it I have an FX3 and am upgrading to the FX5 my ears ring like I was at a concert after a night on the hand calls and after time they WILL do damage to your ears so consider your health and get a Fox Pro or spend your later years saying HUH and What /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

if you want to get in gentle, get the 416B - used for about $275. then upgrade later to the FX3 used for around $375 to $400 and sell the 416 for about what you paid

then save your pennies and upgrade the fx3 to an fx5 with foxpro.

then - watch your buddy Shaunt go crazy figuring out how to trump you again!

The FX3 is really nice - you will enjoy having it

Get one!! I bought the 416B at Cabela's this year for a little over $300 and I am tight with my money. I debated about it for a couple years, but I took the plunge and I love it. I am sure the FX3 is better, but the quality of sound is great and the volume is also. I agree with the guys that mention your hearing and the mouth calls, it has to take a toll, those high pitched sounds hurt my ears anymore. Being able to place the call and play the wind or set up an ambush point is great. The call I have has the long range remote, I must say that I have only tested it out up to 50yds. and it works flawlessly. My call only comes with 16 sounds, I will send it back and get different sounds on it, I only use 5 of them now, but I definitely think I could get by with 16 for the kind of hunting I do. So maybe you could get by with a 416b, you may find a used one here for cheap. Either way, I don't think you will regret it.
