Is the Omega still a good option?

My Bil, and nephew, are looking at getting their first can and asking advice. For a first can, and bolt guns only, would you go with an Omega for $600? That seems like a heck of a bargain. I know it's an old design and has almost certainly been surpassed, but still a great can?

One of my first cans. Can I honestly compare it to cans I don't have.. No. It has been a solid performer over the years. I'm of the opinion it is still relevant, might there be a better option, sure caliber specific usually does better even though most can't hear it. The host system would actually be the determining factor I'm guessing. I'm still happy with the performance of mine. Finally I did move the AR's to a caliber specific can from OCL it works well /better slightly, but that is perceived by my ear.

I've had my Omega for 10 years now and would definitely buy it again.

There are others also that are just as good. But I've been very pleased with mine. I bought mine back when they were right at $1,000
