It was a long day but we did get 2 coyotes.

We went out calling coyotes yesterday, when we left my house it was 5:15 am, when we got back to my house it was 5:30 pm. On top of the mountains where we were at it was wet and cloudy and the wind was blowing in the wrong direction.

At around 3:00 pm we had a stand with the wind in our favor and had a big female coyote walk around a Juniper at 40 yards away. I put that coyote down with a 3" 1-1/2 oz load of TSS #3 shot.

About 1 hour later my hunting buddy JP7mag shot a hard charging big Male coyote at about 20 yards away with a load of TSS #3 shot.

We did have a Gray Fox show up on one of our stands. This was the first Gray Fox I have ever seen in 20 years of hunting the ranch we were on.

We did have some beautiful views from the top of the mountains that we were on.

Awsome! Most of the greys I have called up over in your neck of the woods has been off of 166 and also in Carrizo Plains area. . Probly pretty far from where your at there? Use to hand call them all day long over in the Las Padres, Tons of bobcat and greys there. Sort of miss it.

I don't think mentioning good locations to hunt on public land is a good idea. There are many places that used to be great coyote calling places before hunters started posting these areas on their computers.
