Ok so I'm just complaining..
I think if people would just start pointing out the facts just flat lay it out, maybe someone would listen..one of the biggest problems right now is the bailouts we don't need them..what they need to is smarter people running the companies. Somewhere over the past yrs. "they" (whoever they is) forgot or was never taught how to protect themselves from many things.
How can you run a company if you can't take care of unexpected situations?
Somewhere the ones who knew this have I'm sorry to say..become old and retired....
Or the company is so new they never had those ones to run them.
I went to business school got my degree. And one thing I was NEVER TAUGHT was dealing with economy change. So I don't figure many running the companies were either. But if someone explains it to them perhaps they will get it. I don't know. ...if it makes sense to one person others will start to listen too and someone somewhere along that listening chain will be able to do something. I just think it needs to start happening.

I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR THEM LOSING MONEY THEY ARE DOING IT TO THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SMART ENOUGH TO PROTECT THE COMPANY!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

They are probably going to rely on the government(read TAXPAYER) to bail them out if they lose all their income because their customers can no longer afford their service.

I updated this....really trying to say people need to hear the facts because they are not perparing for the down fall. I don't think we should have to cover them for it, when they are doing to themselves.

Somewhere common sense was forgot about and things stay so "BY THE BOOK"..they lose it under pressure. Don't stop and just come up with some of the simplest small reductions ideas..they keep the policy in perfect order and say to [beeep] with ya.

You spoke of the drilling industry. There has been a drastic slowdown since mid-October, but not a halt. Natural gas is cheap and investors are scared. Myself, I think there is a future in natural gas. It's clean burning and there's lot's of it right here in our own country. Just think how big a step it would be towards energy independance if we converted even half the big-trucks on the highway to CNG. But that makes too much sense don't it? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I've been drilling wells in the Texas panhandle and western Oklahoma for 25 years. You're right, This area (The Anadako Basin)is primarily a gas-field, not an oilfield. Me and my guys drilled 16 Atoka wells in Hemphill County in '08 alone. Not a single dry hole /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Trust me, there is a lot of nat. gas out here. I just hope it picks up even a little after the first quarter. The whole ecomomy in this area depends on it.

FYI - hiring freeze does not make it illegal for a company to hire anyone. Companies do it all the time. Most abide by it - but some hire contractors to get around adding FTE headcount.

I worked as an HR Director for 10 years /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif We hired during freezes all the time.

Something different to complain about... Game Wardens...
I had the "pleasure" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif to meet our new game warden.
Everything I had been told about this guy wasn't nice..few state trooper & the sheriff had already told me he was a real "dhead"...then the one who was showing him around warned me he was a real "ahole"..(quoted their words not mine).....however all I can say now that i have met him...Arkansas stole my warden i want him back... please?..I'm asking nice...
just tell him muffin said go home! lol!!
I'm not looking forward to dealing with him to say the least. The warden that came down to show him around a bit told me to call him not mess with this guy....guess i will.

rattler it's the same one!...Erdman knew my property..where everything was who could and couldn't be there. You know the whole ordeal. We had it set up great got a long so well...this guy don't know a thing..so I'm use Mark no Idea how to spell his longgggggg name..LOL
