IWB holster choice..CrossBreed or WhiteHat?

I pick up an XD-45 LE. 4" service type.

Looking for options on IWB holsters.

I'm liking the WhiteHat for a couple of reasons. They have the kydex part that is switchable. Say I buy a different pistol, I can just get the kydex for that pistol. And, all though it may be a little pain, I could swap the kydex between different guns, if I want that. Also, they have designs have available for the kydex, just for fun.

The Cross Breed seem to have a bit higher following. Any real reason to go with the Crossbreed over the White Hat?

Any opinions or comments are appreciated.

I would say that if you prefer the White Hat, go for it.

I actually don't have either, but I have two similar holsters, both made by local makers. One I purchased from a small local company that makes them who had a booth set up at a gun show. I'm a lefty and they had one in stock at the show for my gun in a left hand model, so I picked it up. It looks quite a bit like the White Hat base model, only in black.

The other I purchased from a local shop that carried a small selection of holsters made buy a local guy. It's a bit more crude looking to be honest, but it works well enough, and was well priced.

I guess my point is, both of mine are good and work well. Most likely either of the two you are looking at will be a good holster, so if you like one better, you probably won't be disappointed with it.

Just to throw out another option. The N82 Tactical holsters are surprisingly good if comfort is key. I have the original version with the elastic. Re-holstering is a bit tricky because it completely closes when you draw your weapon. I wouldn't recommend it for IDPA or something where you are drawing and re-holstering repeatedly. But for daily concealed carry it's the most comfortable I own and carries very deep for good concealment. It is seriously comfortable. Personally, I don't care for the newer version N82 with the molded kydex/plastic. Since the clip is mounted to the plastic/kydex (rather than to the side like on the Crossbreed style), it's a bit thick, and more noticeable than other holsters (Not noticeable to others, but you feel it more). The elastic version has the clip in the same place, but is still super thin because the clip design is much slimmer, and because of the elastic itself.

Just my mileage. Good luck with your decision.

got to go with your gut.... I have no experience with WhiteHat but am on a second CBH...first was for my P239...bought it as I wanted to see what the hype was about and it had a money back guarantee After I wore it a couple weeks...and it was starting to conform to my body and I adjusted the kydex position and then also found what I liked for body placement...it disappeared. not physically but by what I felt. It is the most comfortable IWB holster I have ever worn.

I have a CountryBoy, MiltSparks VM2 and a few others and none compare to be honest when it comes to comfort...I especially like the combat cut so you can get your hand around weapon grip easier but both are great holsters. Just got a P226 model recently...wore it over weekend and still breaking it in but with a good gun belt the things are magic.

Good luck but either way I think you will be happy...just compare them side by side and make it about comfort and build rather than looks or price.....

I have a Crossbreed and love it, but go with the combat cut so you can get a full grip on the gun. I'm sending mine back to get the combat cut. Another similar option is the Alien Gear holster. It's the same design, but cheaper and IIRC it had good reviews. They also have different Kydex shells you can swap available. https://aliengearholsters.com/

There are a lot of good options out there. CBH has a good following, apparently for a reason. Based on others' experience, it seems unlikely that you'd go wrong with one of their holsters. White Hat looks nice too. There's also Foxx Holsters, which are reasonably priced and ship quite fast.

One of my buddies just got his first alien gear holster. So far we are both impressed, same high quality/comfort of crossbreed for half the price.

They have a money back guarantee, free Kydex swaps, and they're configured the way I want. I'm putting an order in for one, now.

You wont be disappointed, I own one for my Walther and when I first got it I put it on and wore it around the house to see how comfortable it was, well later that night I forgot all about that I was wearing it until I unbuckled my belt lol. You will love it.

I went with Whitehat over Crossbreed and would do it again.

I can change kydex for different guns and my clips dont have those ugly crosses on them.

I had both (White Hat and Crossbreed) at the same time. I went with the white hat in horse hide. Here's my reasons why:

- The leather on the hat is thinner making it tuck closer to my body and was more comfortable. The crossbreed was noticeably thicker.
- The steel belt clips were thinner and yes, didn't have the Boondock Saints crosses on them.
- I could get died in black horse hide with the white hat (can't get died horse hide with crossbreed)
- To me, the fasteners where of better quality on the hat.

Changing out the kydex wasn't a big part of the decision. In fact that's something I will never do as I'd rather just have a separate holster for another gun. I carry a G36 or G26 in the one I have. Retention on both brands was identical.

I went with an Aloen Gear. Preliminary results are good. It's still conforming, but was quite comfortable as is. And the price was great $41 shipped!
