What are your all time favorite top 5 Johnny Stewart sounds?

Hmm.....I have quite a few, but I don't have them all. All of the ones I do have are good sounds though.
For predators, these are my choice for top 5:
Yellowhammer Woodpecker
Vittles A'La Jackrabbit
Coyote pup distress
Baby Cottontail
Redfox pup
I've heard good reports on many of the other tapes that I don't have yet. I'm slowly trying to collect more sounds to try.
I also have some coon and crow sounds. They too work very well.

I believe credit should be given where credit is due. The last 4 sounds on my Honorable mention list are sounds we aquired from Bill Delmonte in the early 90's. Bill wanted to try and duplicate Dad's level of quality and effectiveness. He grew up using our sounds. The fact that 4 of his sounds are in my list should tell you how good a job he did.
Nobody knows the story like I do but if you did, I would hope that when I go to my grave, if I were given credit for ever making a good decision in my life , it would have been that one. Given time, I will have a hard time choosing between all of those, for which ones are my favorites. I suspect that it would still be one of Dads but Bill sure makes it harder.
At the time I bought those, I lived in fear that he would sell them to one of the other larger companies in our industry. We had to borrow the money from my Mother because our company was in a decline during the Trapping Industry collapse of the late 80's early 90's. And that's the way it was.....

Just kidding, I have about 10 tapes so far, I have had luck with the coyote pup distress, grown cottontail, pleading chicken screams and baby cottontails.

Really tough decision narrowing it down to five because JS has such a vast library of excellent sounds. Gerald, your father and yourself are true pioneers in providing high quality calling sounds to the masses. I tip my hat.

You are absolutely right Nahautl. When I sold the company, I had a CD project on the drawing board that would have had literally, all of the JS sounds available. HS decided to go with only 9 CDs. In an effort to get as many different sounds available on CD I crafted them with as little repeat selections as possible. I had hoped and encouraged them to expand the offering but it has not happened.
CDs kind of got leap frogged by the Preymaster. I am sure piracy and file sharing is a concern also. We are after one company that has copied the sounds from our Crow CD so blatantly that they even left the file name the same.
I chose Vittle's for that one jackrabbit sound because it was still fairly new in the line and is an effective call to boot.
Thank's Curt. We have guys like Byron South nipping at our heels now. The growth in the interest in predator with the phenomenom of lost cost\high quality recording devices has opened the door to quite a number of entreprenuers who have done a pretty good job of capturing good calling sounds.

To give you an idea as to how much I like the J.S. sounds and the success I had with them, when I purchased my FoxPro 2 years ago, I ended up replacing 19 of the 32 sounds with my J.S. sounds. I occasionally go back and forth with the FoxPro and JS sounds just to mix it up throughout the season, but for most of the time, the majority of the sounds loaded are JS. Both are great, but the JS sounds are what started it all for me 25+ years ago.
