Johnny Stewat Remote

In one of Cabela's catalogs they list a Game Call remote for their own brand of game caller. Looking at the picture their caller seems identical to my JS 512. Does any one know if it will work with the 512. I can't afford a new caller, but I sure would like to have a remote to work with my JS caller.
Thanks for any info.

Hey Charlie, If your JS-512 has (3) jack input plugs on the front (middle one marked remote/on off) it will work. If not it won't.
My JS 512 is moddel MS-512 and it works Great on it.
Hope this helps.

Hi i got the Nite and Hale Remote But it will not work on my 512 JS i am going to have to sale it and get a 612 or a FOXPRO VM

ONE SHOT ONE KILL

OZARK CHARLIE,
I contacted JOHNNY STEWART awhile back when I had noticed the same thing inreference to the remote and caller under the CABELA's name. JS informed me that infact they do manufacture the callers for CABELA's and that the remotes, although not made by JS, are compatible with the JS 512. They also gave me the phone number for an army/navy surplus store in Texas that sells the same remotes for about twenty bucks cheaper than CABELA's. JS was working on a new remote for their 512/612 series callers, but I got that word over a year ago and haven't heard anything new on that. I wish I still had he number for that army/navy store, but the best I can do is to give you JS's number. It's 1-800-537-0652.

Good Luck,
Chad

Varmint_master,

I saw where you may be interested in a Johnny Stewart 612. I have a 612 Deluxe, like new, for sale on ebay. It is currently going for $99. Check it out. It comes with case, chargers, tapes, etc.

Chadx, that Army Navy Surplus store # is 254756-0861. Johnny Stewart Wildlife Calls does not make any callers for Cabela's. Western Rivers makes the Johnny Stewart knock-off that is marketed under the Cabela's and Knight and Hale brand names. The reason the remote works on our unit is that Western River took our playback unit to China and copied it verbatim. Though the remotes look different they will work with the Johnny Stewart units.

We are trying to bring a remote to market that will work with the 512 and 612 series callers. I tested the second generation prototype July 25th. I can not promise delivery dates just yet, but we are working on it. Thanks for your interest in our products.

GS, I have used your callers for years, killed lots of coyotes with them. Great callers, great quality!
This question goes along with Lavoys.
Could the Azden units be used to make the Preymaster a remote system without sacrificing sound quality? As you probably know the Azden has an amplifier of some sort in it. I don't own a Preymaster YET, but I'm assuming it has an amplifier of some sort also. I guess my concern would be running the sounds through 2 amps and what that effect might be. What do you think?
Thanks, dc

FWIW..

I don't have the PreyMaster, but I do have a Power Pro Convert-A-Caller with an Azden. The amp on the Azden does increase the sound volume. Makes it so you don't need to turn the volume on the JS amp up so high. Still sounds fine. The Azden has pretty good reach for remote operation...more then I need.

Thanks for the questions. To be honest I have not hooked a Preymaster up to an Azden yet but my gut feeling is that it would work. We do not have any plans for a remote of any kind for the Preymaster but it can be done with other manufacturers equipment. What is critical is that you not drive the playback unit into distortion (highest volume setting) which causes the Azden amp to amplify distorted sound. That mistake is easy to make on any rig where you are putting sound into a secondary amplifier.
