Just dumped my photo bucket. What are you using for pictures?

Well,
I haven't read all of this thread so I'm a little behind on the process.
I think I got most of the PB issues taken care of today, so I'm looking for a new hosting site that works well through an I-phone app.

I've been using Flickr on the iPad going through safari, but no luck with the app on the iPhone.

You can upload pictures from Iphone to PB? LOL

I'm so far behind the times that I've been emailing pictures from my Iphone then saving them to "my photos" to upload to PB, so no help here.

hm,
I've been using the PB app to take pictures with my phone, load them to the PB site, and then link them to a thread on PM in a max of approximately 30 seconds.

These dang smart phones are just too durn complicated for an old f@rt, Jeff.

Seriously, I don't use the phone much for pictures so never bothered to figure out the PB app.

hm,
I don't even own a dang camera now.
lol.gif

The dang phone I have is about 4x, and then some, of the megapixel capacity of the last camera I owned.

I get on our laptop about twice a month, but my better half was the technology coordinator where she worked for her entire career so I do have a back-up system in place.

The rise of the smart phone was the demise of the point and shoot digital camera. I still own a couple point and shoot cameras but they just collect dust. I rarely see a digital camera unless it's a SLR.

Working at Kodak for 30 years I watched the company struggled in the digital arena. As consumer film declined they put all their eggs in the printing basket and missed the whole photo sharing revolution.

I haven't printed just a picture in over 10 years. The last and I think only images I ever put on paper were 6 years ago when I made yearly photo albums of my sons high school football days. Gone are the days of boxes filled with old family pictures.

Just as a few guys have mentioned on here they can't figure out this new technology, their is a whole generation that's never printed or held a photo, and might have never used a camera but have shared 1000's of pictures.

Heck, Jeff, you got it made, that's a lot better than relying on a 12 year old neighbor kid (all of which know a heck of a lot more than I do about this "modern technology".

Godd afternoon, Jeff. In event you do not wish to show your full name, here is another option.

This is probably the long way around, but here's how I have found that posts pictures w/o my acct name and that cannot be pathway into my acct (if that makes sense).

1) Choose picture to be posted and left click on it.
2) LClick on arrow pointing down @ lower right hand corner of screen
3) Choose
4) Pick desired size
5) W/cursor over picture, Right Click
6) Click
7) Copy properties in menu
Open dialog box in PM
8) Click above dialog box
9) Choose type of image desired, ie.
10) Paste your picture's properties
11) click

A little longer than choosing the UBB but avoids having to clean up the Ubb to keep your info private IMO.

Here's another free photo site that looks very easy to use, postimg.org
I thought it was already mentioned, but put it out here anyway.
Didn't even start a new account, just uploaded this file, picked its size, picked the "direct link" option, then used paste via "enter image" here on PM:
(this one was 640x480)

(uploaded it again for full size)

You could put all the ones you need in an album and down load that album as hm has outlined.

If you don't have a lot of pics this is pretty easy

R click on picture in PB

save image as

select where you want it saved

Weekender, I've asked before but it's never been answered, how did you get these pics to PB yet you have no other copies?

All my PB pics are on my PC hard drive or phone, whichever I used to upload to PB. I've used the R click method to down load a pic I loaded to PB from my phone that wasn't on my PC. Other than that I never had a reason to download from PB back to my PC.

can not speak for him but i will give you my situation.

like you, my photos were downloaded off my comp to pb.

but awhile back we had something called ransom ware hit our comp. they took a big portion of the pics on our computer and told us if we wanted them back we would have to pay. our computer repair guy told us we could pay what they wanted and we might or might not get our pictures back. he said there was good chance they get our money and not give the pictures back.

at that point we decided they would not ever get a penny from us.

long story short, some of those pictures they stole were backed up on pb. only a small portion, but some. looking back, i wish they all were. many of those pictures they got were pictures of our kids and relatives that are now gone.

i would of killed the dirty skunks on the spot if i could of. and not felt bad doing it.

Because I was dumb enough to download to PB and then delete the pic I had on an SD card without saving to my computer hard drive. Hind sight, well, it don't matter now lol...
