I vote for the Rem 700. Have a .22-250 and used to have a 700 Custom Classic in .375 H&H that I loved. To this day I regret selling that rifle as much as I regret not buying its twin in 6mm.
The QC is definitely in decline though, as plainly evidenced by the amount of obvious tooling marks that are apparent without disassembly.
I am also fond of my Ruger M77 Mark II in .338 Win mag. It shoots very well, but I must admit that I dropped $600 at the gunsmith before I ever fired it. It may be the smithing that makes it shoot so well, but I like it alot!!
