Kahles rifle scopes

Kahles is one of the better scopes on the market...They've been around for quite a long time and have an excellent reputation...I have a friend that won one at a shooting competition and I've tried to buy it from him for several years...Even though he seldom shoots anymore, he won't let go of it, as he feels he will never be able to afford that quality of glass again and he makes pretty good money...

I don't own any Kahles, but I have gotten to peak through them before and they are good. I found this tid bit out recently that I didn't know about the scopes.

This is from the opticsplanet website.

The Kahles family managed and ran the company until 1974. With no heir in the family to take over the company, an ailing Fredrich Kahles sold the business to his friend Daniel Swarovski. From 1974 through 1988 Kahles was a subsidiary of Swarovski. In 1989, Kahles Limited G.M.B.H. was registered as an independent company within the Swarovski Optik Group. Now marketed in the United States as a brand within the Swarovski Optik North American product line.

I have a Kahles 10x42 binocular that I have used hard for ten years and still wouldn't trade except for another one just like it (or its big brother Swarovski). Excellent glass.
