Kahr cw-9?

I took my new CW9 to the range, shoots good, without any jams. I ordered a Safariland belt slide holster, but it hasn't come in yet.

Mine does shoot low of the point of site, with 115 grain loads. As Getfoxy suggested, floating the Dot, worked well. However, I would like it to shoot a little higher. What's the story on 147 grain JHP's? Are they any good, as a SD round?

New generation 147's are excellent self defense rounds. Many LE agencies are using the Federal HST 147 gr., Winchester Ranger T 147 gr., and Speer Gold Dot 147's and are reporting excellent street results. The 147 grain seems to find an accuracy node in the 9mm and the recoil impulse is milder than the snappier +P loads with lighter bullet weights. Get one of the above three brands I mentioned and try them for reliability in your gun, once that is proven you can carry them with confidence.

Thanks.

I was thinking of trying the cheaper Fiocchi 147's. If they shoot well, I would get the Hornaday's for carry. They look to be balistically, the same.

Use the load you intend to carry to check for reliability. Trying load "A" for reliability then carrying load "Z" proves nothing. The Hornady doesn't have the proven street track record of the three I mentioned, but do as you want.

I tried some 124gr and 147gr fmj,wow what a differance.the group it tighter and the poi is so much better.
now ill get some good ammo to shoot.

Good to hear. I ordered some 147 gr, to try. I'm shooting 115 gr and 124 gr, that I've had on hand. Still trying different ammo, and breacking in the CW9. 100% reliable. No failure to feed, so far.
