Anyone ever have him do any work for them. I found his website and was pretty impressed by the pictures. I would like to get something built on a 700 action and his rifles look like what I want. Any imput?
 
I've not had anywork done yet,but have seen some of his work ! It's nice,infact so nice I believe it's 1-2 years wait to get a whole rifle built from him !
 
I know Karl well. I shoot at the same club, and talk to him on the phone pretty regularly. He is a good guy, and a great smith. Been over his place 7-8 times now. Guns/parts everywhere. Not sure if he is taking on new builds or not right now. Should be posted on his site. He is usually pretty backed up with work. Many feel it to be worth the wait.....
 
I sure do like the looks of that .257 Weatherby that one of the memembers here owns that was built by Karl. I would love to have one like it someday.

Haven't checked his site lately, but the last time I did, he wasn't taking any orders.
That was about 8 months ago, so I went with another smith.

Guy It's mine and beleive me you would love to have one like it! Karl does great work and is a pleasure to deal with!
 
I've also been over Kampfelds a few times, 2-3 times. Karl is great, I watched him set up his mill to spiral flute my bolt.

His CS skills are great. I had some more bolts/barrel spiral fluted from him. He would call you within a week and ask how you liked the machining on the bolts/barrel.
 
Hope you boys have fun on Sunday. Yet another shoot I'll miss cuz of work. May be back from Mizzou for May shoot.......
 
I won't be going. I forgot about it. I had a Wedding to attend today (Sat) so I wouldn't have any accurate DOPE for the match. Next match...
 
i have a stick i bought used that was coated there he also fluted the bolt and skelontonize the bolt handle all work he did is very good id recomend his work
