Kenda Tires

So then you have to pay somebody to mount and balance them . Plus if they screw them up ,it's your problem not theirs. You are not really gonna save anything.
 
I'm not sure about the truck tires but I know they make good motorcycle tires. It's crazy how much tire costs have risen in the last few years. Doesn't seem right.
 
FWIW I never buy tires from any of my local shops. I've always purchased them from Discount tire, Tirerack, or ebay. Then I have one of my friends who has his own garage mount and balance them for ten bucks a tire.
 
If you have a shop to mount them for cheap then you can do all right.

I buy all mine from a local tire shop .They do farm and on the road repairs aswell.

They'll meet or beat any big store price and have outstanding CS . Plus, the manager is a hunter /trapper so I know my $ is well spent.


As for the Kenda, I know they have had decent tires in the past.

Tire prices are out of control and the rubber quality is going to crap.
 
I have had such good luck with General Grabber AT2 that it will more than likely be the only truck tire I purchase.
I have used them for the last 10 yrs. 3sets ~180,00miles or ~60,000 mile tire (mostly on-road though).

The local walmart has ordered them for me but it could work out cheaper with a rebate from tirerack

My brother purchased a set of these general at2 to replace the BFG`s on his suburban and I was surprised
the General had a slightly higher load rating.

I was shopping a couple months ago, tirerack.com had some good deals. I ended up at discount tire though. Priced about the same after I talked to them.
 
Tire rack would be great if they didn't get you with shipping. Look at tire direct. About the best prices you can find and free shipping. I've been running Cooper st maxxes on our fleet lately and they've been great.
 
One has to consider longer term value for the $$. Those are rather aggressive tread, may be noisy & wear faster. Maybe you need such, that's fine.

The last truck tires I got I ordered from tire rack, marked down Michelins, $160 a tire. These were load range 'E' for a 3/4 ton. I rotate once in a while & they wear GREAT.

If you don't have a favorite use their search engine to find a local installer. My 2 best priced options are the local Ford dealer or Wal-Mart.

I have these on my wife's Liberty. I have been hard pressed to find much bad press on them. Their retread process is above and beyond the old school practices. I have 2 neighbors that run them on their work trucks. Getting about 35000-400000 a set with minimal maintenance. I think we can get more with regular rotations and such. We got the ATs and they have impressive grip. We've trialled them a little, never really notice too much slip. Quiet on the road and they ride very nice.

I paid $320 for 5 tires. And then I had them mounted at Wal-Mart with new valve stems and lifetime balance and rotation for $80. I will be using these tire until they give me a reason not to. My truck needs a set, and these will be them, as well. It's nice they're only 1 hour drive from me.
