Kill zone????

I don't think there are any factory lead loads between BB and number 4 buckshot.

The Remington HD BB loads have not been made for quite a few years.

Do not try steel BBB or steel T shot loads on coyotes, they don't penetrate as deep as lead BB shot does.

Okay, so basically what you are saying that any lead BB shot is worth trying. I have been looking up these different loads of BBB or T shot and I thought I saw some that were lead but not certain. Thanks for your help

Given decades of shotgunning coyotes, I have to agree with both GC and derbyacresbob.

That being said, IMHO, if I felt the need to be taking shots at ranges of 60-100 yards with my smoothbore shotgun, I would be shooting rifled slugs.
I know very few do that. But, I am one who has done.
And you stated that you may already have an improved cylinder choke.
You still would need to shoot some targets, to know where your point of impact vs point of aim is.

I currently have a Weatherby PA459. With it's factory screw-in cylinder bore choke, and ghost ring sights, off a rest I have been getting 5 shot groups of 5" at 100 yards.

2020 is the first year I have hunted at all, since 2016.
The 7 coyotes I've called and taken this Fall, have all fell to Federal Truball rifled slugs.
Closest taken at 30 yards. Furthest was at 110 yards.
My rifles haven't even left the house yet.

Interesting. I will be hunting with friends so my goal is to cover close range. My plan is to get some 12 gauge varmint X BB by Winchester and do some patterning. I will let you know my results.

Good to hear you're back after them Will. Always enjoy your post.

Can't give any advice you haven't already gotten buckshooter2.
