Just curious what has worked for ya? I bought the one I was looking at. it's still in the states so it wont be here for a bit.....Looking for what you are using in this rifle if ya dont mind.

Don't have a Kimber, but I've had enough 250's to know that they like 55 grain Nosler ballistic tips and H-380. They all seem to like a little different powder charge/velocity, you just have to tinker a little to find the magic potion.

Both of my 22-250's like a 52 grain Berger Match Varmint and 39.5 grains of H380. I have another load for the 52 gr Berger MV with IMR4320 but it's right on the edge so I'll let you work up your own. Be careful.

The Bergers have been good killers but I'm still looking. Right now I'm screwing around with Nosler Bal-Tips and having great results. If you're looking for good groups Berger and Nosler will do you right. Check out Nosler's website for some good loads. Varget is another great 22-250 powder but I like a little more velocity than it offers. I tried a 55 grain Nosler Bal-Tip with some W760 and shot a tiny little group yesterday but it was only moving about 3400 fps.

I used to shoot nothing but IMR 4895 in my 22-250s and I've now owned 4 of them but the powder has changed and seems to burn hotter than it used to. My old load causes pressure problems in both of my 22-250's.

Enjoy that Kimber. It takes about 150-200 rounds to get the barrel broken in but then the groups get a whole light tighter. I have an 84M Classic and love it.

Thanks guys....

What about reloading equipment. I'm brand new to it. Though I do have access to a buddys reloading equipment, what does a guy need?

I have a Kimber 84M in .22-250. The accuracy was greatly improved by removing as much wood as possible around the pillars followed by bedding with Devcon, including an inch long barrel pad. Just thought I would toss that out in case yours falls short of expectations.

I am getting my best accuracy with a 55 grain Hornady V-Max on top of Varget .010 back from the lands.

do you have any info or maybe a how to on this? Never done anything like it, not quite familiar with what you're talking about process wise. The rifle isnt here yet so I have really nothing to look at.

Devcon epoxy?

all of the 250's I have loaded for like the 52 gr. berger and 36.5 gr. varget with the cci large rifle magnum primer.

Again thanks for the info. I'm looking at getting set up for reloading, in the mean time waiting for the rifle to arrive in Alaska.

no wonder I can never find this thread....always had to do a search for it to pull it up...got moved to the predator HUNTing forum not the reloading forum hmm.....not quite why though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
