Hi!!
I am planning a trip to kingman area in Jan. Im a falconer and will be taking my bird with how are the rabbit populations?
My dad will be joining me on the trip and we are planning on doing some calling can we hope to see some bobcats in the area?
My dad has never gotten a shot off at anything we have called so im really hoping to be able to get him something. Any tips would help, we are only goin for 2-3days and would like to stay somewhat close to kingman but we are not afraid to do some driving if need be.

Good luck to you Jimmy there are decent areas in the hills and canyons outside town.

If you can get down to Wickenburg - you'll find excellent hunting areas there within them rolling hills - beautiful country!

be careful, the mountain lion population in Kingman/havasu is huge. killing off sheep/goats big time. take a little bit more than the bird when you are out there. they have attacked some mountain bikers. i commend you on the bird though, that is so cool. never tried it myself but it is mezmerizing how they bring game in.

ya i always have a pistol on my hip just for that reason. one day before the pistol my bird caught a jack and was in some thik mesquite so i couldnt get in to help and the jack was screaming like a demon. i finally got in and dipatched the jack i was sittin on the ground when i stood up i had about 4 yotes circling me about 25 yards away. They followedd me all the way to the truck with almost no light left very scary!!!
what are the regs on lions? here in nv its an over the counter tag. if its the same i might just take a tag along while calling
If wikenbug is where the action is at then i will head down there at least one day

If you are hunting with someone from Kingman, get them to take you to the Game and Fish office. You can get a 2 day permit for free if they sponsor you. Resident or non resident, it doesn't matter.

Trapper luke ill be down there jan 11-14 or 25-28. when will you be down there?
Dont know anyone from down there but wish i did that would be nice to get a free license

Is this only at the Kingman F&G office or all of AZ? My parents live in Cottonwood so I make the drive several times per year. Also, what are the limits on the free pass? Is it a once a year deal or can I do that each time I am in town? I take it the person doing the sponsoring has to hold a license?

Kingman seems like a good area for yotes. Just about every time I drive through there I see yote roadkill. I have seen as many as 3 on a single drive through going from 93 to 40. On my last drive through there was a fresh one coming in on the East side that looked to be a good 40lbs+. I have been tempted to pick up an AZ license since I am down there so often.
