Duracoat has a special matte sealer for this called Duracoat Duraclear Sealant. DIY aerosol spray kits are available at Home Depot for $5.60 and work great: Preval Spray Kit.

Poly type spray paints wear too easy and get melted by sunscreen, bug spray, and solvents. Might as well do it the right way.

I have never done it myself, but have had a bunch of it done by different people/companies. I would say the detail needs to be in the prep work. I have been very satisfied with the durability of all my stuff.


I really like the scope below as I thought it was less "shiny" than the actual factory finish on the Remington.

Here is a my LR308 a friend did.
