Labrador Male or Female

Great looking pup, Congrats.
Makes me want to go out and get another one. My wife and I had to put our Black Lab of 13 years down in June. It was the hardest thing that I have ever done. I have had 4 labs and IMHO they are the best all around dogs on the planet. We just have to get over the loss before starting over. I will never have another breed. Just like stated above, ducks in the morning, phesants in the afternoon and sharing the bed at night. Good choice.

nmyotebuster,

Everybody has giving you great advice. I would strongly suggest like it was stated above about putting the pup in a kennel etc at night. The first few nights are going to be rough but its well worth it. It is amazing how fast you can housetrain a pup if you "kennel break" them first. I would also caution agaisnt playing fetch to much. Just a few throws a day will be sufficient. Some dogs will get burnt out and never want to retrive if you overdo it when they are little. Not all dogs are the same and just watch how he is reacting when your playing with him. Stop when the puppy is happy not draggin his tail and stumbling all over the place becuase he is to tired. I just bought a female on monday and am excited to start training again.

Things are going great....

he loves to fetch, and I tire out before he does....( this is his favorite toy so far....a DUCK )

We are doing pretty well on Sit so far.... 75% of the time he gets it on the first try.

And when he wears me out, I send in the second team....

Congrats on your pup... Those second teamers sometimes do a better job than the first string. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

All the best!
