laid off boredom = 22-250 hat rack.

I only have so much land to hunt so I get bored, Decided to slap together a few things I had around the house and make a nice hat rack.

I used wooden dowels, .22-250 brass and a 1x4x3' oak board that I stained. Glued it all together and tada.

haha I was hopin to find some 50 cal brass at the gun show sunday to use for a coat rack. You read my mind.

Tip - use gorilla glue in the brass, it expands so it will hold the dowels better. it also bonds well with metal

well I have .22-250 on there which has the same size opening for the bullet, you cant fit a very big dowel in there I wouldnt trust it with heavy winter coats. Maybe hoodies/fleeces.

i had to use 3/16" dowels to fit in that hole, and they dont make those in the stouter oak dowels at least at menards they dont have them.

You would need something that could take at least a 1/4" dowel so you could use the oak and then yeah It would work to hold a coat IMO.

thanks jeff if i read closer i would have seen what used lol. showed my wife she doesnt think it will go with our decor. what ever the [beeep] that means. but it will look good in the he-man woman haters club, aka the man cave.
