lake city brass

I went halves on 500 rounds of LC with a guy. Between the both of us, we have had cases get stuck in sizing dies, and split and get stuck in the chamber. I just found one the other day while loading an AR magazine, cracked all the way around about 1/2" up from the base.

Something smells fishy here. I have some '97 LC brass,
that I purchased as once fired, that has close to 10
loads on the brass. Primer pockets are still tight,
and I haven't had one case crack. Your experience is
NOT typical of LC brass. I have FL re-sized thousands
of pieced of LC brass, and the only time one has stuck in
a sizing die, is when I forgot to properly lube the case.
And having a case split on firing, sounds like a load,
or chamber, issue to me. More details please...Date
stamped on head, load data, rifle firing ammo, loading
process details, etc.

I agree also. Something doesn't sound right. I've got some LC brass for my .223 that has been reloaded numerous times without any issues. If you are getting case head separation I would be looking at the firearm or your reloading data....

If you bought these as once fired, me thinks you got took.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif
Sounds like a lot of times fired or fired from a sloppy chambered full auto weapon..

I knew this was coming....Yes I lube my brass. It was LC 04 head stamp loaded with 25 grains of varget and 55 grain v-max. The first two broken cases were in a rifle that is a .222 reamed to a .223. That may have been a chamber issue. Then several got stuck in an RCBS FL sizing die. I have found 2 reloads that have cracks.
The only other brass that I have seen cause more issues was the PMP someone was talking about earlier.
I have loaded remington and winchester brass with no issues at all.
