I have a hunter model Ruger Mark III and I would like to put a laser sight on it. I intend to use this pistol for coon hunting at night. I would like to get a good quality laser and it needs to stay sighted in. Not looking to save money or skimp...it has to be reliable and cant be fragile within reason. Thanks in advance for any info.

IMO, a laser won't work as good as you would like. It will not work for the different ranges you will encounter on a coon hunt. You can't get it to be on target at different ranges. Sighted in at ten yards, and you will constantly be having to try to guess the holdover or under for different ranges. A little high or low on a small target is a miss. A red dot will work better for what you want. At least you will be able to see the dot, unlike the laser. At least that was my experience.
