Lastest Storms in Indiana

3rd Alarm

New member
Well since there has been recent discussion of dangerous storms I thought I would give you some pictures of our Easter Evening. The photos are a little blurrie due to the wind still blowing pretty hard. Some areas had hurrican force winds according to the local news.

These storms came through around 6 pm and produced 10 unconfirmed tornados. So far no reports that I have heard of any injuries. These pictures are in order they were taken over a 15 - 20 minute span. Notice how bright it is starting to get to the West in the last picture.

We had a tornade go through the little town I live in. Lost a couple buildings and a few trees but no one was hurt. the tornade mossed my house by about 200 feet but I have no damage from it.

Yeah they have most of the damage cleaned up now but for a day or two the center of town looked like a disaster area. We had a series of storms move through again last night but luckely all we got was heavy rain. A town lust to the north of us got hail and I mean BIG hail, tennis ball sized. Several cars are without glass and a lot of trees have limbs that were beaten off. We got real lucky cause no one was hurt.

Now I wonder what mother nature has planned for us as storm season really starts to heat up..

I don't know how hard it blew here last nite but had to be over 60 mph. Don't know how you guys live in tornado country.

The closest I've been to a tornado is when the wife is cleaning the house just before company arrives. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm here in gibson county. I was out fishing when that storm came through with 80mph winds. I had to sprint 1000yds and hide in a tunnel under the RR tracks. From there I sat and watched a funnel cloud form; and a transformer blow. The wind was blowing so hard that rocks were getting picked up.
Lesson learned: Don't go hunting or fishing when storms are in the area, no matter how much you think it will improve the bite.

Just watch the lightning... I learned in FL (lightning capital of the world) that if you can hear the thunder, you're in potential danger of getting struck.
Sorry to hear of so much damage in IN.. We had some come through MO but not that severe. Glad the board members are OK.

Well I think that things have calmed down for awhile anyway, nothing being forecasted anyway. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Varmint_Slayer, I don't know, those storms have produce heavy stringers in the past, it's hard to stay home knowing the pattern of local lakes when it gets rough /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Stay safe guys,

I am south of Greenfield down near Greensburg and I used to live in Gibson county over in Oakland City. I have to agree sometimes the fish will really turn on when the storms start to come in but I like to stay dry when fishing..LOL
