Lead Ammo ban, [beeep]?

Admittedly, yes they are pricey, but it's definitely not "what a guy has to use."

It's a no brainer for us, we are blessed and fortunate to run the gear, equipment, and work with the manufacturers we do, no one has to do it like we do, but it is how we do it.

Ya, I completely understand,

In the end it's all good, if your smashin fur.

This is one of those situations where you can always look up sources and find articles that support that this is junk science and that is what people will choose to believe because that is what they want to believe, it is reality. There is no point in an argument because those who think there is nothing to it will never believe any medical journal or other science review.

My wife is a bird specialty veterinarian, she sees birds all day long, both pets and commercial as well as backyard and pond birds. She sees several cases of lead toxicity every year. Toss a few BB shot pellets to your chickens, pigeons, or ducks and see how long they live. I have seen turkeys eat airgun pellets and show signs within a couple of days, and pond swans, geese and ducks dying from trap pellets. When a veterinarian sees neurological signs of lead poisoning, and then sees pellets in the gizzard in xrays it's pretty conclusive.

I'm sure studies have been performed to provide conclusive results to what you mention above. If the above is true and of such a hazard, why haven't humans become sick from lead ingestion from all of the venison, elk, moose, pronghorn, etc. consumed? Copper and mono-metal bullets are recent introductions to hunting. What about all the lead fragments from separated cores all these years?

Indeed. I should have died long ago. I eat deer almost everyday, often 2 meals a day. Most were shot with a rifle with those darn lead things. I do take excellent care of my meat with trimming and washing, so maybe I consume very little lead. Should get a level drawn. The real answer to all of this is a lead substitute that doesn't cost twice as much per bullet and has similar properties and terminal performance. If there was such a miracle metal, I suspect we would be shooting it by now.

What Indian reservation is this? I've got a hunt scheduled in June out there, having to load up a few thousand rounds of lead-free ammo would not be fun.
