LEADERSHIP IN THE U.S.

By J.D. Zumwalt, in National, Opinion

There is so much to write about involving the complete incompetence of our national leadership. It is hard to know where to start, but today I think I will begin with our Secretary of State John Kerry since I just listened to his speech from Iraq. This was a speech written not for the people of Iraq, but for American voters.

Mr. Kerry proudly described the conversation he had just finished with leaders of the Iraqi region. He confidently explained to the American people that he had advised the Iraqi leadership that they must come together, put their differences aside and work to make their country and the region safer. Let’s put this in perspective. We are dealing with a group of people who hate each other so much that they strap bombs on their children allowing them to die in a fiery explosion, hopefully killing members of the other sect. They have been killing each other since the time of Christ. Does anyone believe that because Kerry says, “You need to work together” – They are going to start getting along?

Look at this from another angle. Imagine a person of prestige from an Arab nation addressing our Congress. For the sake of conversation, pretend the person who addresses them is the King of Saudi Arabia. Picture this king standing in front of our Congress telling them, “Democrats and Republicans must come together.” Do you think that would work? It is almost as ludicrous as Kerry telling Iraqi people, who passionately hate each other, to simply, “Come together.” Those who know the people in this region very well know they are laughing at the very pompous Mr. Kerry.

I will re-state my opinion that we have amateurs running our nation, but it is not their fault; it is ours. At my old place of employment, I frequently sat on interview hiring boards. I seldom interviewed a person I did not like. We hired relatively few of them. Being likable does not mean one is qualified for a particular job. The United States hired a likable man to be the commander of all of our armed forces; he was not qualified then or now. He surrounds himself with advisors whom he likes and trusts. That is a great strategy. The problem is that a great majority of them are also amateurs and it shows.

The inexperienced State Department flunkies who brief (on television) the American people are something right out of a Saturday Night Live skit. They puke the words their handlers feed them and expect us to accept it as truth. It is dangerous to be led and to be informed by such blatant and skilled liars.

The most harmful and insulting example of this occurred last week. Immediately following the Fox News one hour special featuring three men who actually fought at Benghazi, the State Department sent one of the kids over to a press conference. She called these brave men liars. All three of the men stated they were given the order to Stand Down. The State Department spokesperson said the men did not receive that order. She stated they were just told to take another half hour to be sure they had enough bullets and guns. These men are professionals. Do you really think they needed someone to tell them, “Before you go, take an extra half hour to make sure you have enough bullets?” Thank God we had real men there who were willing to put themselves in so much danger in order to help other Americans. They were not worried about getting re-elected.

It is not just our President and his Cabinet members. We shouldn’t forget Congress. What the [beeep] are they doing? Are they deaf? When you get elected to Congress do they rip out your spine? This is the worst Congress ever assembled. They won’t make a move unless public opinion forces it. It took the public beheading of two Americans to get them to call for action. And by the way, watch the videos of the way these monsters cut off heads. This is not a quick blow from a Samurai sword. They saw them off with a crappy knife while the victim screams in fear and pain.

Meanwhile we have an active duty United States Marine sitting in a jail Mexican cell. The President or the Secretary of State could make one phone call and get him out. Why don’t they? Meanwhile anyone on earth can waltz across the border and we will meet them, feed them, doctor them and fly them to a city in the US (including Honolulu) where they will scatter and disappear – Until they show up to collect their welfare, free education and most importantly– to vote.

A huge percentage of the allotted budget for these thousands of illegals provides them with their own attorney. Meanwhile, one Marine is waiting while the fiction of the Mexican justice system is played out. Folks, the Mexican justice system is non-existent. It is comprised of bribes, cartel fear and politics. The Mexican government is playing our amateur leadership for fools. They are laughing too and I honestly can’t blame them. We ARE a joke. I love this nation dearly. The only way to save it is to look to legal Constitutional means to get rid of these guys. Vote them out – All of them.

And we have the nerve to say, “God bless America?” We didn’t just turn our back on God. We looked at Him right in the eye and said, “Get out.”

Not to worry, Allah is on the way to fill the void.

I agree with his assessment about our current leaders, but the truth is, it's been this way for a long time in Washington. I have come to the conclusion that politics comes first, and that includes both parties.

I've concluded that the only things 99% our "leaders" are concerned about is 1) staying in power, so they can 2) line their pockets. I suspect we'd have much better leadership if there was no compensation associated with governance and we had real "citizen legislators" as the Founders intended. American politics/government was never supposed to be career - get in, do good things for the country, then get back to doing something productive.

This makes perfect sense...

Good luck with getting anything passed that would promote this. Although true, the Politicians have us by the gonads. Unfortunately the common voters are too stupid to realize that enough is enough. They will keep the "Idiots in charge" In Charge.
