LED shooting Light

Yea, I dont care for the 802. The beam is to tight for my liking. I dont think its as bright as my G4 either. IMO the G4 is a better light. And it can be bought in the USA for $20. I have mine covered with 2 layers of yellow gel and I can see farther with it than the 802 w/no gel. Just my take.

I think ill go with the g4.

I was looking at ebay at gels. I want a kit with yellow and amber, i can only find what looks like red. Does anybody have a link For amber that they are using?

-thankss for all of the information.

I agree the R2 is better than Q5. Seems to give a clearer image of the animal. Almost like its just as bright but softer.

The gel packs I bought on e-bay you had to buy two different packs to get red and amber.

After seeing wormy's disappointment I had to compare the G4 and 802 again. I have a little over 100 yards to the woods out my back door. Hard to tell which is better but the 802 was tighter. I wasn't looking through a scope but doubt the 802 was tighter than than the field of view my scope allows. When I shine them down the road the 802 lights things up farther away. My 50 year old eyes may play some tricks on me at times but my 17 year old is already claiming the 802 for his gun. I don't think you can go wrong with either. The 802 also gives you the option to drop in the Kill Light red or green LED.

I bought those same gel packs. The red is useless as a filter to shoot with but would be fine for scanning. The amber is good and I haven't yet tried the yellow. This place offers a lot of options.

I'm not sure all you guys are comparing the same lights. 802 is a pretty generic term for the physical properties of the lights body. They could have any combination LED, driver, and reflector. Any differences would make a big difference on the characteristics of the beams they put out. The secret to finding the exact light you want is knowing which como you want and then getting it as you want it. Kinda tedious to do but well worth it in the end.

happyyoter- I've got an extra 28mm fisheye lens from DXT, they fit my SolarForce L2. If its the size you need lemme know and I'll send it to you.

peace.

You must be right, because my Uniquefire HS802 from Deal Extreme has a spot that is less than half the size of my G4. The spot is so small that at 100y and out its pretty much useless.

Yeah 12.50 is crazy, never used them. My thought was 6 out of the 8 DJ gels on ebay you get are pretty much useless. I stumbled across this site and thought I'd share another option.

Yey I thought the same way but any olace on the net that sells the stuff is way overpriced. I still get it from the ebay guy even thought it is a waste as well. I asked him if possible to seperate them and he said he can not do it. I guess they get you either way. I say it is better at 5 or 6 dollars shipped than close to 20 for 1 piece.

Have you guys tried your local music equipment store for the gels? We are a small town and our single music equipment store has a great selection although you have to ask them for it. (Not out on display)

I called in my area and selection was limited. I use photography filters. They work great but are $$$$. The site I posted had the closest selection of colors.

I tried mine, but they said they no longer stock it since most people have switched over to colored LED lights.

I have a white destroyer, so your saying that the front piece of the bezzel comes off right? I cant really see any seams so I dont want to break it. Also when you but the gel in, does it require anything to keep in in place? Do you keep it large and let the threaded bezzel keep it in place? Sorry for the questions Im a newby.
