Leonard in Africa!

For the benefit of those who do not have the back ground, go back to this thread http://www.predatormastersforums.com/ubb/Forum16/HTML/000199.html
(Hope you don't mind me starting a new thread Jason, but the previous thread got a bit long.)
Yes, that was where it all started. I picked him and Nancy up at Joh'burg International this morning 30 hours after they stepped on board at home. At that stage they were still numb from flight agony.

On the way home we were attacked by this guineafowl, and Leonard defended us 3 by felling it with 7 shots from a 22LR. (He was mumbling something about recoil or flinching or jet-lag....)

Then he ate all of my family's food supply for the month

....and while I was preparing for the night call, the tough boy from California fell on his bed and dropped off into unconsciousness.... So here I am, sitting alone at my pc, with nobody to hunt with. Wish you guys were here, at least I would have had some company.

Lochi,

We have always suspected that Leonard spent more time snoozing on his night stands than hunting!

He would stop by the all-night Predator Market and pick up critters to take pictures of and skin. Rumor has it that he fishes the same way.

We are all pulling for you guys.....thanks for sharing!!

Good Hunting,

Bob C.

Hi guys.
I swallow my words of yesterday. The soft boy just needed some rest. Soon after I changed his drapers, we walked after some baboons, but they saw it come for miles.
Later in the evening the brute from California took this innocent little jackal.

We're off to a nearby game park now.
Cheers.
Lochi

edit: I think I see part of the problem. This is LB right now, and I made a post under Lochi's account, but it didn't show up. However, he posted under my name, and here we are.

If my post ever shows up, it isn't very important anyway. But something is wrong with the way he is entered?

That's just way cool. Did you use your handcalls? Which ones? Same techniques? The pictures are great but we want details too.

Good day guys.
While my fragile client is still snoozing, I'll take the chance to make a quick posting.
Lochi.

Oooops! He thought this was a leopard, (big eyes that light up well!) and downed a "spring hare"

It was full moon and the wind was strong, but he nevertheless called in a jackal and a Cape fox. I have to reluctantly admit I am impressed with his mouth calling.

For better pics and brief description of these critters, check out this link. http://home.mweb.co.za/ec/econhunt/Children%20of%20Econo%20Game/Narratives/econo_game.htm

We're off to a game ranch today to hunt for antelope, and away from computers for 2 days. But we'll post as soon as we're back.
Thanx for the support.
Got to go now. My client needs his nose wiped urgently.
Lochi.

This is Lochi speaking. My client is building up strength for the Kruger Park (tomorrow). Sleeping like a rock.
In this order, some pics.

Leonard and Lochi, nice critters. What you boys shootin them with? Leonard is the technique the same for the jackels as the coyotes when callin? Keep postin pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Lochi n Leonard, just a couple of things:

1.) I thought this was supposed to be low-cost hunting in Africa, from the posted results it looks pretty much priceless. Pretty impressive.

2.) Regarding the "egg" picture:
a.) Did that caption mean hunter with big "eggs" chased bird away.
or
b.)hunter shown with big ostrich eggs after having chased bird away?
smile.gif

c.) Leonard, did that bird object to losing that feather you're holding?

3.) Is that a springbok or did you guy ssneak back to AZ and bag an antelope?
smile.gif

4.) Leonard, did you borrow that rifle or did your barrel shrink at altitude? I always picture you with one of those 28 " monsters.

As mentioned above, I am totally jealous... and amazed! I missed the original thread about low cost hunting in Africa until it was brought up to the top recently. It sure looks like one heck of a trip, good luck to you all.
A full report with all details on all types of game after the conclusion of the hunt would be appreciated, though it looks like you may want to strike a publishing deal first!
