Lets see your Predator Assault Vehicles!

Guys lets post some pics of your favorite/specialized vehicle which you take to get them Predators.

Lets see racks, custom fabrication, lights or anything "specialized" that you consider necessary for your hunting style. Maybe that will get some guys excited to build one in the "off" season.

Here's my hunting rig.
2008 Yamaha Rhino 700
In the beginning I had just added the winch and a soft top.

In this picture you can see the "safari box" on top the roll cage, I also added more storage in a visor just below the soft top, and added tight spot driving lights. I also made a full windshield for winter driving and am in the process of making a half windshield for summer use.

I added this to the back. It is lockable for secure storage.

A pin drops thru the deck into the tailgate. A hasp covers the pin.

It's only 10 months old and has 2400 miles on it!!
Lots of scouting trips /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here you go. Here is my 1997 Jeep TJ. I built a custom top with 1.5" angle iron, .75" treated plywood, covered with roofing material, aluminum sheeting and carpet on top for silence. I extended the cab for more room. It has carried 300lb clients.

Love it, tony!

I have a 1988 suzuki Samurai that I was going to turn into a hunting rig, but it still looks like a street rig. I'll post a pic soon (just for fun)

is this what you had in mind tony? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice rig, Tony. Do your clients ride on top or just use seats for stationary hunting? If your jeep rides like mine, that would be a pretty wild ride where I hunt /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif:).

We have (and use) a seat belt on the seat on my TJ and have been very thankful for it on many occasions /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. The boom slips out of socket to allow 360* rotation of chair when not in use to lift game.

hm

Good man. I own an '86 Sami that is a nice, clean rig too. They go anywhere...

The clients only sit in the seats during a stand. No riding on top allowed. That's just asking for a problem in my opinion. Plus, riding up top with a spotlight while someone is driving is...just spotlighting. No glory in that.

PS. Nice skinning rig with the winch and all. Very customized. I like it!

Dam, if only I had that jeep around my area, them coyotes would be in some serious trouble, lol.

To be completely honest with ya, I dont even like jeeps, but I definately like yours!!! Very very very nice.

We use the chair for night preadtor stands and to spot & stalk nilgai during the day. Winch is a necessity to handle the nilgai but makes field dressing and skinning deer much easier, too.

That's a pretty sweet jeep. I own a 1990 Wrangler that's pretty well built for hunting. I don't think I've ever seen a seat built out of the hitch receiver, or a top set of seats either. How do you hold steady to shoot? I'd assume you must stop when the time comes, right?

nices rigs! but who got back up vehicles /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif my backup is a pontiac sunfire /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif The shoe-leather express. Same here plus an old Jeep wrangler.

Backup vehicle? Sure. Here is my 1997 Ford Expedition. I built a top for it out of 1.5" angle iron and .75" treated plywood. It utilizes the existing luggage rack rails and can slide on/off with a few bolt twists. My buddy Scott helped me design and build this one, as well as the Jeep.

We welded up a ladder that hangs off the rack and also doubles as a coyote hanger.

Actually, I built the seat for my pickup originally (which ably serves as a backup should the need arise). When I got the jeep, it was easier to adapt it to the jeep than build another and it still fits the truck as well.

Have only shot a couple of coyotes off the chair when spotted while driving. Yep, shooting off a moving vehicle would not yield good results /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. The rest on chair makes for steady shot, but it does take a few seconds for the truck to settle down after a quick stop. The truck has a winch in the bed to do the heavy lifting.

BTW, one thing iv wondered about the yotes dont get spooked with the vehicles there? i know play the wind but wow thats a lil tough i would think. keep in mind im out east and cant do that so i have no idea on the "rules of engagement" in thw SW but so far i like the style it would be a comfort night hunt for sure!

6 Wheels are better than 4!

We don't really hunt off of it, usually park it and walk at least a 100 yards.

Of course there was one night we went to look for coons raiding the deer feeders. I rode "shotgun" and actually carried my shotgun. We rolled up to the feeder and coons were every where. I couldn't bring myself to shoot from vehicle, even though we were on private property.

I jumped out to shoot. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Of course we hadn't stopped moving yet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I still got two of them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
