Let's See Your Reloading Mess (Area)

KAG

Ok, I just thought it would be fun to see everyone's reloading mess (I mean area),no cleaning it up. Just take a photo of how it looks right now. Mine is a disaster....the photo does not show the other side which is even worse.

Ok I admit I did clean up a little like 3 days ago.......

That looks prety good KAG, in comparison I would be ashamed to show a pic of mine right now, but if I had better luck w,photobucket I would. I just dont have everything put away yet from loading 200 240g XTP`s 44 MAG and am using Markron.Plus my reload room also serves as cleaning room for Rifles and R25 is currently getting the treatment.

I would pay money for someone to make my area look that nice...I still have a lot of stuff in boxes that havn't been unpacked since the move...and my wife told me that my space may not be my space...she wants to expend the basement refinish plans to include a bedroom...so that means I am going to get sent to the garage with my reloading.........she used the argument, "a bedroom will increase the value of the home more than a small shop space..........

I may have to opt for the "Build a small shop in the back yard" argument...

Here's my disaster area.

And to think that I've been changing dies in my press all these years when I should have just bought another press with a new die set.

This is almost the condition of mine, glad I'm no the only one.

I just threw up a little while looking at those pictures. Not because they are desgusting but when I compare my set up to those, it makes me vomit. you guys have nice set ups compared to mine. Picture this, mine all fits in that turkey fryer box, actually a similar sized rubermaid roughneck container, and only comes out when I need to reload. I have a 1"x8"x24" hardwood cutting board that my two presses and powder measure bolt to. I use countersunk bolts from the bottom and wing nuts. I then use "c" clamps to attach that board to the nearest sturdy workbench, table or desk, many times this is in a hotel as I travel on business by the way. Then I pull powder primers bullets dies scale and brass from the same box and do my thing. After I'm done, I put it all away. If I'm in the same hotel for more than one day, I'll leave it set up while I'm there and it simplifies the process the next evening. It is actually well organized but to take a picture of it right now would be nothing but a rubbermaid box. I have a 1/2" thick steel table that is set in concrete filled tires which is "home" for my reloading but everything must be modular for me. I do what I can.

I would show you mine, but not quite sure where it is anymore. I am pretty sure it is in my garage however. If I can find a way to get the door open far enough to allow me to squeeze in there I will know much better. Not too sure that I really want to go out there because I have not seen my mother-in-law in some time either and not all that keen on digging her up. Every now and then late at night I think I can here a very faint "hulmpme! hulmpme!" from somewhere in that direction. I am inclined to believe that indeed I am hearing things because each passing day it get weaker and weaker. I will admit it has been nice having that Crown Victoria of hers to drive around and those social security checks sure come in handy too. I feel certain that if she did not want us to have them that she would have said something by now. Maybe I go looking for her in a week or two, but nah! Alwasy beter to start something after the Holidays, aint it?

My press and powder dispenser are mounted to a board that I used to C-clamp to the computer desk in the house. After I built the garage the wife sent my gear packing. It's colder in the garage in the winter..

Heat the garage, it'll be a lot cheaper than sending the wife packing.

mine is more of just a work station but is kept quite neat. probably cause i haven't accumulated as much stuff as you all.

Attached is my layout . The T-7 is set up for 22 Hornets only and the Rock Chucker does everything else. The bench is steel and was built by "Pickren Fabrications" .The whole thing is in a double wide closet.

Mine's been on here before and I haven't updated the photos (I need to do some new ones)...I claimed a small 8'x12' section of the storage room in the basement, built a couple of walls and installed a steel door, so camera angles are really limited...

I made two benches initially, one for reloading and the other for cleaning and maintenance...Shown is the reloading:

LoadBench.jpg

It now has wall shelves above the bench...

Then I found a steel work bench and roller cabinet at Sam's Club that was on sale and installed it across from my reloading bench and added some storage underneath...

With more wall shelving above it...

The small press on the reloading bench and my powder dispenser is capable of being stored in my "Scotch" box for transportation to the range if I'm having trouble finding a good load for a rifle... makes it much handier than running back and forth to change powder or seating depths...

PS, I'm a Bourbon drinker, rather than Scotch... It's just an old box that I picked up at a yard sale...
