I am torn between these two scopes for my remington 700 in .223. I will be using it for coyotes and paper. Vast majority of my shots on coyotes where I hunt are 150 or less. I like the idea of the firedot reticle on the Leupold, but not sure it is needed. Has anyone compared the glass on each of these? The burris has a 30mm tube as opposed to the the 1 inch on the leupold. Again, not sure how much difference that makes for my usage.

I have a new Mark AR 3-9x40 Mil-dot in the box in my gunroom waiting for me to get time to switch it out with a Nikon on my AR. I have been hunting quite abit and want some time at the range getting it setup so I am waiting for now. If I were you with that 700 in 223, take a hard look at a Nikon 4-16x42 Monarch, I have a 4.5-14x40 Mil-dot Nikon Buckmaster on my 700 22-250 that works real nice.

Rule of thumb, Leupold is typically going to have the best glass in its price class.... Their customer service is second to none.

I own both, they are about the same. I own three AR Leupold's and one Burris so I must like the leupold better. My Leupold's are all mildot.

I run a Leupy AR3x9 on my RRA coyote carbine and love it(mil dot not fire dot). It came with turrets matched to a 55gr pill at 3200fps. While I'm not getting exactly that speed from my RRA the turrets are great to 400yds or so. I have 0 complaints. Best of all, it's made in the USA!

I have the mark AR on my CZ, great scope. I was going to buy another for my AR, but found a great deal on a Weaver GS Tactical mil/Mil, so figured I might give it a try.

I did order a mil only dial for the mark AR, as I despise BDC anything. 18bucks for the way it should have been shipped to begin with.
